STEPH LOPEZ ART

STEPH LOPEZ (b.1979) has always been keenly interested in arts and crafts even at a young age, joining art clubs and electives while still in school. She rekindled her passion for the visual arts in 2005 through weekend art workshops and hasn’t stopped creating since. While she works with different media, she does mostly wire sculpture and hand-molded figures. Themes of her work vary: gender roles, relationships, human frailty and resilience, the environment, healing, and nostalgia, among others. Sometimes, she makes art as an attempt to understand issues and the world around her; oftentimes, as an emotional release.

To date, she has joined numerous group shows and has had several solo exhibitions. She lives and works in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines.
